UW-L economists host discussion on income inequality

La Crosse, Wis. – Faculty in UW-La Crosse’s Economics Department will host a conversation about income inequality 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at 1309 Centennial Hall at UW-L. Faculty will discuss some of the factors responsible rising inequality in the U.S. and many other countries of the world.

“Our goal is to inform the public conversation, while highlighting the areas of agreement and disagreement between academic economists,” says TJ Brooks, chair of the Economics Department. “We look forward to the conversation.”

“Raising the Minimum Wage: A Conversation with Economists”

Faculty from the Economics Department at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, will lead a discussion on the potential benefits and challenges of raising the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour. The minimum wage increase will be a non-binding referendum on all ballots within La Crosse County.
